How to Check Out a Hoax?

With the invention of computer and World Wide Web, scammers make scams growing fast especially internet fraud, so it’s important to know how to check out a hoax. Fraud on the internet can be anything from a pyramid scheme to a panda bear offered for free. If you know how to check or verify a hoax, you will always be able to differentiate what is real and bogus. You no need to have a rocket science knowledge to identify a hoax o scam, here are some easy ways for you to sort out.

1. Check it in News Sites.
News sites will often help when you want to check out a hoax. Scams are often on their attack list as part of newscasts or in individual columns of local newspapers. If you are aware of a scam going on in your area you can contact with local news stations or newspapers for information. If they don't have such information, sometime they will allocate resources to find the information and share to you (sometime they won't share). If the scam is interesting, they may run a feature story about it.

2. Check Out in Websites.
There are few websites focusing on scams finding and exposing. One of them is Snopes, it is one of the great place to sort out a scam, it is also known as the Urban Legends Reference Pages but it also includes some average references as well. Some other websites that you may use to verify are ReligiousTolerance, tafkac, and urbanlegends.about.com. Most of the scams including internet frauds can be figured out there.

3. Try Search Engines or Forums.
Still unable to verify this scam? OK, don't worry and how about search it in forums or search engines? Both can help you to identify whether it is truth or trick. Anyway you really can't trust what people post there unless it comes from a reliable source, however these resources can lead you to find the truth if they may include references to where they discovered their information.

4. Use Your Logic or Common Sense!
It is impossible Bill Gates suddenly want to give money through chain mail right? Using your common sense or Logic, which might just be a last ditch effort, but really you need to use your logic and common sense everywhere in life, not just on the internet scam.

This is something that we must consider. Scams are everywhere on the Internet!

The most important thing to do is think logically and choose wisely. Then seek advice from other users about the program that you want to join.

Yes, the most important defence is through logical thinking.

Yep. I'd found some scams telling that every person who join will get 1K per month just by registering! Ridiculous, right?

For my friends, always be aware of these scams!
